Chronic Cold & Cough

The Common cold is a viral infection that occurs in the nose, throat, and upper respiratory tract. Though it creates chaos throughout the day, It’s usually harmless. Many types of viruses can cause a common cold.
A chronic cold is a cough that lasts eight weeks or longer in adults, or four weeks in children. Coughing is a routine bodily function, but when it lasts for an extended time, it can get in the way of everyday life and be worrying. A chronic cough can be wet and produce phlegm or dry and tickle the throat.

 

What are the main Causes ?

Cough and cold are caused due to many environmental reasons. Some of the major ones are as follows 1. Asthma: This condition occurs when a person’s upper airways are especially sensitive to cold air, irritants in the air, or exercise. 2. Acid Reflux: It occurs when acid comes back up from a person’s stomach and into their throat. The result can be chronic irritation and sometimes infection in the throat, which leads to chronic cough. 3. Bronchitis: Chronic bronchitis causes long-term inflammation of the airways that can cause a cough. 4. Postnasal drip. This condition is also known as upper airway cough syndrome, in which mucus drips down the back of the throat and creates irritation. 5. Blood pressure-lowering medications. This condition can cause a chronic cough in some people. 6. Dust and Allergens: Some people are allergic to dust particles and due to our polluted surroundings, it leads to cough and cold.
